In 2022, Angie Stephenson was honored to join the Board of Directors at the NC Infant Mental Health Association (NCIMHA). The NCIMHA is a “statewide, interdisciplinary non-profit organization established to promote and support the optimal development of infants, toddlers, young children, and families through relationship-focused workforce development and advocacy efforts.”

The NCIMHA’s mission is focused on promoting the mental health of expectant parents and their children through age 5 by collaborating to strengthen early childhood systems and developing an effective and supported workforce. Angie’s experience working closely with children and families from many backgrounds, along with experience in mediation and adult mental health, allows her to bring an individualized approach to her work with families.

Her unique professional experience as both a foster care social worker and an attorney make Angie uniquely qualified to support the vision of the NC Infant Mental Health Association that “every North Carolina child will grow up in nurturing foundational relationships and supportive environments that provide the basis for emotional, cognitive, and social capacities necessary for a healthy future.”
