The work of child welfare is absolutely vital to the safety and well-being of children and families. At the same time, it is incredibly difficult work for the social workers, attorneys, court volunteers, judges, and other professionals who engage with the system on a daily basis.

The Center for Workforce Equity and Leadership (CWEL) is focused on the workforce development needs of child welfare staff in September stating ” Child welfare is hard, important work that demands specialized skills, support, and recognition. This year’s theme of “We see you. Change is igniting” emphasizes the need to appreciate and develop our workforce.”

To support the child welfare workforce, the CWEL is providing resources for agencies and staff to motivate, engage, and support the child welfare workforce throughout the month of September. You can access those resources on their website.
